Statutory limits are official Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) Class B outdoor bathing criteria (DO ≥ 5.0 mg/l, BOD ≤ 3.0 mg/l, pH 6.5–8.5). The Composite Risk Index (CRI), component weightings, and scaling constants (Peak Lead 1.5 mg/l ceiling, BOD excess 10 mg/l) are provisional operational planning tools developed for BMC officers and remain under review. Historical data (2023–2025) cannot guarantee present-day water safety on 20 October 2026. Real-time pre-immersion testing is recommended.
