About the project

About JalDrishti जलदृष्टि के बारे में

Turning hundreds of pages of MPPCB monitoring reports into a ranked, cited picture that a municipal officer can act on.

Mission उद्देश्य

Every Ganesh and Durga festival, the MP Pollution Control Board tests the water at Bhopal's immersion ghats before, during and after immersion. The results sit in reports of 87 to 118 pages that nobody lines up against the legal limits. JalDrishti does that work so a Bhopal Municipal Corporation planning officer can see which ghats need aeration, cleaning crews and sampling first, and why.

Who it is for

A BMC planning officer preparing for Durga Visarjan on 20 October 2026. The bilingual brief is drafted for the Municipal Commissioner and is clearly marked as a draft for official review.

Methodology summary पद्धति सारांश

Readings are compared with official CPCB Class B outdoor-bathing limits (DO ≥ 5.0 mg/l, BOD ≤ 3.0 mg/l, pH 6.5–8.5). The provisional Composite Risk Index weights oxygen deficit (40%), organic load (30%), metal hazard (20%) and post-immersion decline (10%). The weights and ceilings are planning choices under review; CPCB publishes no composite index.
